1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Application includes:

Information from Google Sign-In: When you sign in to CommentAI using your Google account, we receive access to your basic Google profile information as permitted by you during the Google OAuth consent process. This typically includes your name, email address, and profile picture, which are managed by Firebase Authentication.

YouTube Data (via YouTube Data API v3): To provide our services, and with your explicit authorization via Google OAuth, we access data from your YouTube channel, including but not limited to:

• Channel Information: Your YouTube channel ID, name, and other public channel details.
• Video Information: Information about your videos, such as video IDs, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, view counts, and duration.
• Comment Data: Comments posted on your videos, including the comment text, author's name/channel, publication date, like counts, and comment IDs.

AI-Processed Data:

• Video Summaries: Summaries of your videos generated by Google's Gemini AI models based on video content (for shorter videos) or metadata (for longer videos).
• Comment Sentiments: Sentiment analysis (e.g., "Positive," "Negative," "Neutral") of comments on your videos, generated by Google's Gemini AI models.
• AI-Suggested Replies: Reply suggestions generated by Google's Gemini AI models based on comment text, video context, and your defined settings.

User Settings and Instructions: Information you provide within the application, such as preferred AI response tone or custom instructions for generating replies.

API Tokens: We securely store YouTube API access tokens and refresh tokens necessary to interact with the YouTube Data API on your behalf. These are stored in Firestore and are associated with your user account.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Having accurate information permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Application to:

• Create and manage your CommentAI account.
• Authenticate your access to the application.
• Provide and operate the core features of CommentAI, such as displaying your YouTube comments, videos, and channel data.
• Generate video summaries using Google's Gemini AI models.
• Perform sentiment analysis on comments using Google's Gemini AI models.
• Generate AI-assisted reply suggestions to comments using Google's Gemini AI models.
• Allow you to post replies to YouTube comments through the application.
• Store and manage YouTube API tokens (access and refresh tokens) securely in Firestore to maintain connection with your YouTube channel.
• Store generated video summaries and comment sentiments in Firestore.
• Personalize your experience, for example, by using your defined AI response tone.
• Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the Application.
• Respond to your support requests and resolve issues.

3. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

With Google Services:

• YouTube Data API: To provide the services, we interact with the YouTube Data API. For example, when you post a reply, that reply is sent via the API to YouTube.
• Google Gemini AI Models: To generate video summaries, analyze comment sentiment, and create reply suggestions, relevant data (such as video content/metadata, comment text, and your instructions) is processed by Google's Gemini AI models. This processing is subject to Google's own terms and privacy policies.

Third-Party Service Providers: We use Firebase (a Google service) for authentication and Firestore (a Google service) for database storage. These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of data.

By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.

Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Specifically, YouTube API tokens, AI-generated summaries, and comment sentiments are stored in Google's Firestore database, secured by Firebase security rules and our backend access controls. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

5. DATA RETENTION

We will retain your personal information (including YouTube API tokens, video summaries, and comment sentiments stored in Firestore) for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the services of CommentAI. You can request the deletion of your data by contacting us (see "Contact Us" section below). We may also delete your information if your account becomes inactive for an extended period, or as required by applicable law.

6. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Accessing and Updating Your Information: You can review and change your Google account information by logging into your Google account settings. If you have questions about accessing or updating other information, please contact us.

Revoking Google Permissions: You can revoke CommentAI's access to your Google Account and YouTube data at any time through your Google Account security settings page. If you revoke permissions, CommentAI will no longer be able to access your YouTube data, and core functionalities of the application will cease to work.

Data Deletion: You may request deletion of your CommentAI account and associated data (such as stored tokens, summaries, and sentiments in Firestore) by contacting us at mohamemdasif@gmail.com. We will process your request in accordance with applicable law.

Closing Your Account: You may close your account by contacting us.

7. COMPLIANCE WITH GOOGLE API SERVICES USER DATA POLICY

CommentAI's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This means we will:

• Only use the data you've authorized us to access to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in CommentAI's user interface.
• Not transfer this data to others unless necessary to provide or improve those features, comply with applicable laws, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with your prior consent where required).
• Not use this data for serving advertisements.
• Not allow humans to read this data unless we have your affirmative agreement for specific messages, it's necessary for security purposes (like investigating abuse), to comply with applicable laws, or for CommentAI's internal operations (and even then only when the data have been aggregated and anonymized).

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

CommentAI is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or a higher age threshold if applicable in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under this age without parental consent, we will take steps to delete the information as soon as possible.

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
